Setup & Usage

The Tradetron AI assistant connector lets an AI assistant build, validate, backtest and deploy (in Live Offline) algorithmic trading strategies in your Tradetron account, in plain English. This page is the setup and usage reference.

1. What you need

2. Connect it

Add a custom connector in your assistant's settings with this server URL:

https://mcp.tradetron.tech/mcp

Your assistant will send you to Tradetron's sign-in page. Log in with your normal Tradetron credentials and approve access. That is the whole setup — there is no API key to copy, paste, or store.

Authentication: OAuth 2.0 authorization code flow with PKCE, per user. Clients may register dynamically (RFC 7591); the server publishes its protected-resource metadata at /.well-known/oauth-protected-resource (RFC 9728). Every account-specific tool call is scoped to the signed-in user — there is no shared key, and no way to reach another user's account. Revoke access any time from your assistant's connector settings.

3. Try it — example prompts

4. What you get back

Strategies are created as templates in your Tradetron account, ready to open in the Advanced Strategy Builder — nothing is hidden inside the chat. You review and edit every strategy on the Tradetron website before it ever touches real money.

5. Limits and costs

6. Troubleshooting

"Sign-in required" on every call — the connection was never authorised, or the token expired. Remove and re-add the connector.

A strategy was created but a leg looks wrong — ask the assistant to read the strategy back to you before you deploy it. Always review in the Tradetron builder.

A backtest is stuck — most finish in 10–75 seconds; long windows take longer. Ask for its status rather than resubmitting, so you are not charged twice.

7. Support

Email support@tradetron.tech, browse help.tradetron.tech, or see the support page. You can also just ask the assistant to contact Tradetron support for you.
